Ralph Hall, graduate of Chabot College, CA, in conversation with Amee Godwin, of ISKME, for CompletionMatters.org, Conversations on College Completion Ralph Hall shares his experience as a successful community college student, balancing the challenges of work and study while emerging from the foster care system. He serves as a student leader and works with current and former foster care youth on their journeys to overcome adversity and get on an educational path. Ralph describes firsthand that nothing can really prepare students for exiting foster care, except "permanency", whether guardianship, adoption, or reuniting with family members. He plans to continue his studies in English to eventually teach and create his own program combining writing, history, and psychology, inspired by culturally relevant explorations of language.
