Silja Kallenbach describes a national project, "Accelerating Opportunity", based in 11 states, to reform policy and practice related to low-skilled adults entering college and adult basic education. The goals are around increasing their college and career aspirations and readiness, impacting college placement and financial policies to remove current barriers and inefficiencies in their path to completion. In addition, the project is looking to work with industry partners to establish career pathways and curricula alignment, as well as to encourage pursuing postsecondary credentials, especially by low-skilled adults already in the workforce.
